Unlock Your Potential: The enFocus Internship Experience
At enFocus, we offer an unparalleled internship experience that stands at the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development. Our program is designed for forward-thinking individuals eager to apply their skills, learn in a dynamic environment, and contribute to meaningful projects that have a tangible impact on the South Bend-Elkhart region.
Support, Development, and Community for Growth
Professional Development
You will have constant access to support and guidance throughout your project work. Regular meetings with the Fellow managing your project ensure you can be confident in providing your Sponsor quality work products. On top of the project work, we offer weekly professional development presentations to highlight a wide range of professional skills.
Community
Throughout the summer you will be able to connect with members of your cohort, as our typical summer internship brings in 20 students. Your cohort will explore the region, attend community events, and participate in Intern Connect. Intern Connect, run by the South Bend Chamber of Commerce, helps bring interns from various employers across the region together for skills development and social engagements.
Exposure and Ownership
You’ll be involved in mission-critical activities and given a high level of autonomy in your workflow. As an intern, your ideas will be valued and respected. We celebrate the contributions of our interns through company-wide presentations to share your successes throughout the summer.
Skills and Impact
Engage in high-impact projects in both civic and industry innovation, applying skills like:
Project and stakeholder management
Grant writing and development
Data analysis
Strategic planning and program design
Manufacturing process improvement
Market analysis and product development
Types of Internship Experiences
Our 8-week Summer Internship cohort exposes young professionals to a diverse range of work experiences, as interns participate in two concurrent projects. 60% of an intern’s time will be spent collaborating on a Sponsored project with a regional organization and about 30% of their time will be used to advance an exploratory entrepreneurial project. With the time remaining, our interns connect to the amenities of the region, other young professionals in the area, and professional development sessions. In addition to the Summer Cohort, we occasionally have part-time work available throughout the academic year.
Making the Most out of an In-Person Internship
We are dedicated to the South Bend-Elkhart region. With offices in both cities, and Niles Michigan, we serve Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. The Internship Program requires that you move to the region and work 2 to 3 days in person at an office or sponsor location while providing the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week. To help with housing, we connect you with local universities who have available rooms, and provide a $1,000 housing stipend on top of the hourly wage.
Benefits
Embark on an internship that not only builds your professional capabilities, but also positions you for success in your next career move.
Compensation rates of $13-16/hr, depending on degree type and level
$1000 housing stipend to those who submit proof of a new housing expense for the summer
Hybrid work model, blending in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work

The Internship Program’s application is open to anyone currently completing, or previously completed, a post-secondary program and has U.S. work authorization, including OPT/CPT.
