Donavan Tshuma
Innovation Fellow
Donavan was born and raised in Zimbabwe. He graduated from medical school at the University of Zimbabwe, where he had a keen interest in public health and oncology. After gaining experience in both bedside medicine and public health, he attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated from the ESTEEM program with a master’s in STEM entrepreneurship.
One of his early career highlights was pioneering a public health program for screening and treating precancerous cervical lesions in a low-resource setting, which improved outcomes and reduced cost of care. He has also worked in Medical Affairs Strategy where his work included applying real-world data and evidence in clinical research. He was also part of an innovative project on the use of machine learning to predict acute exacerbations in patients with chronic Asthma.
Donavan is currently serving as an innovation fellow at enFocus. He hopes to use his time making an impact through innovative and data-driven solutions; while continuing to grow and acquire new skills.
He enjoys binging on Netflix series with his wife Ashley and son Nate.
