Joseph McKeirnan

Innovation Fellow

Born in Walla Walla, WA, Joseph grew up on a small wheat farm. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland in 2019 and his M.S. in Management from the University of Notre Dame in 2024. His professional work experiences include, Natural Resource Management as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia, and Project Designer Engineer with Key Technology. His varied skills and experiences provide him with a unique approach to problem-solving.

During his time as a Peace Corps Volunteer, his work centered around building community capacity and sustainability. Joseph shares, “I look forward to continuing this type of work in the United States and collaborating with my local community and partners to build a positive, lasting impact.” He is also looking forward to the entrepreneurial opportunities presented to Innovation Fellows.

Joseph is excited to work on projects that have lasting and positive impact, including, ERP software implementations, process improvement, lean manufacturing, community impact, customer relationship management, promoting sustainability,  risk management, strategic analysis, technology implementation, worker safety, and increasing productivity.

When Joseph is not working he enjoys playing sports, cooking and consuming food, traveling the world, making friends with animals, flying general aviation aircraft, taking photography adventures, and spending quality time with family and friends.
