Michael McHugh
Innovation Fellow
Michael was born in Illinois and raised in Fairfax, VA. He received his B.A. in Classics and Mathematics from Northwestern University, where he spent most of his free time co-founding and operating an undergraduate community garden. Michael went on to serve a different community in Tucson, AZ, where he taught Middle School Math while earning his Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame.
After earning his M.Ed., Michael was eager to move to South Bend and to find a new way to serve his local community through his work. When he was told about enFocus, he was excited to learn that their mission of supporting regional economic development would allow him to apply his experience and expertise to a new context while also allowing him to learn about his new home in South Bend.
Michael is especially interested in projects that allow him to use his experience in academic program design and community building. He is excited to learn new skills and to see the lasting impact that his work at enFocus will have in the region.
