Sarah Ochocki
Innovation Fellow
Sarah is originally from Mentor, Ohio and came to the South Bend - Elkhart region to pursue her bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame. She worked to improve the community around her by working as a tutor in South Bend Schools in tandem with researching best educational practices. Additionally, she spent two summers working at a school and assisted living facility for people with disabilities.
While pursuing her studies in neuroscience and education, she was fascinated by the neuroscience of development and how it interfaced with the development of communities. Driven by this interest and her drive to make her community a better place, enFocus seemed like the perfect place to apply these values. Sarah hopes to learn more about working with the community organizations that are working to strengthen communities and explore the connection between civic and economic development.
Sarah is extremely passionate about educational equity, disability rights, and healthcare accessibility. With these varied interests, she hopes to explore the work being done in the South Bend - Elkhart region to improve community equity. Outside of work, she loves to read, cook, bake, watch and play sports, and is looking forward to exploring South Bend.
