Discover enFocus’ Innovation Pitch Competition

enFocus will jump at almost any opportunity to share what we do with others. It's in this nature of celebration for our region and our work that we host the Innovation Pitch Competition (IPC). In our first annual IPC, college and graduate students from around the area will learn, create, and connect. The event will develop student’s understanding of the underlying economic and community context of the South - Bend Elkhart region, hearing from local leaders about unique amenities and concerns. After lunch, they will have the opportunity to collaborate with current Innovation Fellows as they generate presentations sharing their ideas for new processes, products, programs, services, or solutions to community challenges. Winners will receive awards and prioritized interview tracks for the Fellowship and Internship job opportunities. All of these details and more are on the IPC informational site

Now is a great time to start building your resume and practicing different types of interview skills. The IPC will develop your strategic thinking and entrepreneurial skills, presentation abilities, and provide some information on careers in innovation. It also serves as an opportunity to practice the specific “case study” format that enFocus, and many other project based organizations, use to conduct interviews. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of refreshments and networking too.

The Innovation Pitch Competition will be hosted at the Downtown South Bend location of the Saint Joseph Public Library and is free to all participants. With only room for 40 competitors, we ask that interested undergraduate and graduate students apply to participate using the link here

The event will take place from 10am-4pm on October 24th and coincides with another exciting opportunity for young talent, the Student Immersion Experience hosted by our friends at the South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership. Student Immersion Experience starts at 6pm on Oct. 24th, and provides overnight accommodation for approved participants as they tour the region and its key employers. More information can be found on the Student Immersion Website
